When I took on this project, I was hired to completely redesign this home to make it both beautiful and functional, while creating a space perfect for hosting gatherings and everyday living. As the designer, I had the opportunity to reimagine every corner of the house—from the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room to the bedrooms, closets, and even the wine cellar. I carefully selected all of the lighting, finishes, and details to ensure that everything felt cohesive, intentional, and reflective of the family’s lifestyle. I also guided the selection of windows, doors, and the exterior color palette to tie the home together inside and out.

Because the home sits on the hillside in Ojai, right off Highway 33, I drew inspiration from the rustic, earthy elements of the area. My goal was to create a home that feels warm, inviting, and connected to its surroundings—a space that’s cozy for everyday life, yet ready to welcome friends and family for special gatherings. Being able to shape the home from the ground up and see it come alive was such a rewarding experience as a designer.
