The objective of this project was to assist two empty nesters in remodeling their property to accommodate their needs for the next two decades and beyond, independent of their children. We started with the designs for the home office, followed by a large remodel, removing multiple walls in the common areas to make an open concept layout for the living, dining, kitchen and family room. We also reworked the primary suite and second floor, floor plan completely. Lastly, we came up with a new design for the garage. A comprehensive set of construction documents was prepared for permits, along with design boards and a binder containing detailed descriptions and instructions for all of the products required for the installations. The last two projects for the property are the front yard and two guest bathrooms. The entire property is anticipated to be completed within the next year. The design palette for the project incorporates warm tones, fostering a rustic organic ambiance throughout the home.
